Inheritance

We work on a lot of faith-based films here at Arcay Studios, but Inheritance was really special. Rick Lalonde’s feature has everything you’d want in a movie: adventure, drama, romance, conflict, and redemption.

The Delvecchios are a close-knit extended family, but after the death of the patriarch, two feuding brothers are left to run the family business. Then a dark family secret comes to light causing old grudges to be magnified and loyalties to be called into question. When one family member seeks to fix the ongoing turmoil he gets more trouble than he bargained for. Inheritance is the story of how sons look to their fathers for identity, and how one son learns that true identity comes from a source deeper even than family.

We enjoyed working with Rick and his team on this fun flick that is distributed by Vision Video. Arcay Studios did all of the audio post production for this film including dialog cleanup, foley, ADR, sound design, and mixing.

Masters University Communications Department Drift

We enjoy working with the students at The Masters University on their short film productions. They stepped it up this year with a new challenge of creating a sci-fi adventure. This faith-based story was shot on location at Laurel Canyon Stages. We recorded the location audio and provided all of the audio post production for this film.

Typecast TV Show Pilot Anthony Tyler Quinn SeanSauce Dean Cain Sean Sauce

We got to work with a really fun cast and crew on a TV pilot for an upcoming show called “Typecast.” Typecast follows the somewhat finalized live of actor Anthony Tyler Quinn (Mr. Turner on ABC’s Boy Meets World) as he struggles to find work that has nothing to do with his television career. He lives with megastar Dean Cain (Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman), his nephew Sean Sauce (YouTube, Vine, and TikTok prankster), and their landlord Ralph (from a TV show about an alien life form or something). Tony may be recognized in his TV commercials, but is that why he’s trending on Twitter? Or does SeanSauce have something to do with it?

Media Day at COC

On March 14, 2015, the College of the Canyons Media Department teamed up with West Ranch High School to offer high school and college students the chance to meet with professionals from the film, game design, animation, public relations and broadcast journalism fields.

Media Day featured 29 presentations in four 45-minute sessions during which presenters spoke about what they do and how they got into the industry. Arcay Studios cofounders Koren and Ryan Young spoke to students in two sessions about post production and home video distribution. They fielded questions about producing independent films and audio post production.

The Young Brothers were reunited with the former teachers Dave Brill from College of the Canyons (pictured left below) and Jennifer Overdevest from West Ranch High School (right).

Torah Codes on Blu-ray & DVD

There is a code in the TORAH, the first five books of the Old Testament. The Code is real and mathematically provable. Incredibly, the Code seems to have information about what is happening today. Names, places and events are all encoded. The TORAH is not a crystal ball but new clues seem to indicate that it was meant for our generation to discover its secrets.

Richard Shaw, producer of The Wordz Project and the popular Watchers series, takes us to Israel to interview some of the top experts in the field. Professor Eliyahu Rips has dedicated much of his life to studying the Torah Code and teaching others how to do the same. This fascinating documentary features interviews with researcher L.A. Marzulli, IDF Reserve Captain Dan Gordon, Col. Richard Kemp CBE and others.

We’ll get to see recent events unfold within the code like the conflict in Gaza and the Ebola epidemic. Arcay Studios in Los Angeles did the encoding, menu design and authoring for this 2-disc Blu-ray and DVD set. It is available now on Amazon.com and L.A. Marzulli’s website.

Core Issue Productions Wins Grant

Arcay studios is honored to be a part of this amazing production. We edited five and ten minute rough cuts and provided DVD authoring authoring services. The 5-minute trailer is below.

Our society is finally stepping up to recognize the sacrifices of troops who have fought and are still fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan. But what about the parents, spouses and children who are caring for these men and women every day? Core Issue Productions is producing a feature-length documentary that addresses the emotional challenges faced by those who care for their loved ones wounded in the wars of Iraq and Afghanistan.

In “Not The Same: Families After War”, we meet these caregivers of wounded veterans and learn how their lives are changed forever. The goal of this documentary is to create awareness of what it is like to care for our wounded, illuminate their “new normal” and celebrate the unsung heroes of war.

Director, Stephanie Howard (pictured left) is the proud recipient of the Roy W. Dean Grant for Fall 2014. The price is $2,500 cash plus an estimated $30,000 of gifts-in-kind for editing, consulting and post-production!
